Bike Setup: stock Shimano and Bontranger with added cycloputer, dual cages, slicks on for tires for added speed
Summary: Great bike, especially used. I was looking for a bike with at least carbon parts and this fits the bill perfectly. It's stiff when needed, accelerates quickly, and is light enough on the hills to allow lots of hill practices!
Strengths: Carbon fork and alpha AL parts make it light, fast. Shifts well, but with a little clicking, the tires and wheelset are great and apparently well priced.
Weaknesses: The seat sucks and will be replaced, but that is clearly a personal choice and I could, if needed, live with the stock one.

Bike Setup: stock for 4yrs - Ultegra & 105 mix.
Just changed to compact crank (FSA Gossamer)
Race Lite Wheels
Summary: Excellent bike for the money. I'm 160lbs and have over 5000 miles on the original set up - mix of Ultegra and 105 components. Race Lite wheels are great - front wheel required truing after T-boning a Rottweiler, but was still rideable for a month till I made it to the shop. There is no flat ground around here and it performs fine on the hills. Just changed to compact crank from the original double - much better for climbing. My daily trainer, group ride, and century bike. Was using for triathlons too (with aero bars) until I upgraded to TT specific bike.
Strengths: Light enough, responsive, yet comfortable for century rides.
Weaknesses: Decals are all peeling off.

Summary: Bike made a lot of creaking noises when it was under pressure (going up hills). I told the Trek tecks this for the past two years. This bike frimae pulled apart on a ride, the frame was weak where it connects to the wheel. Trek East Side Madison would not believe mve. It's a long story, but the frame was defective. I wouldn't buy another Trek again.
Strengths: Seemed to be a smoothe ride and respnsive
Weaknesses: the frame was weak and customer support was weaker.

Bike Setup: Trek 2200 with full Ultegra, Cane Creek Headset, Bontrager Race Lite wheels, and Cateye Mity computer.
Summary: I purchased this bike about 3 weeks ago and I am very satisfied with it. I have since put about 300 miles on it, mostly on poorly paved country roads, and it has stood up to much abuse with very little maintenance - just a simple shifting adjustment and a tube replacement. The frame is stiff and responsive, with carbon in the right places to effectively smooth out road vibrations. I switched to this bike from a Trek 4500 hard tail, so my experience with road cycling is limited, but I highly recommend this bike.
Strengths: Light, stiff, responsive, and smooth.
Weaknesses: None yet.
