Price Paid:  $0.00 at Cutting Edge Sports

Bike Setup:
58cm

Summary:
It was a tough call to sideline my trusty RB-1 for a plastic bike but I'm really happy with this purchase. The bike has been comfortable from day 1. It's a great climber and proving to be very stable descending. Aside from folks looking for a razor sharp race bike, I really think this is the perfect mix of comfort and speed.

Strengths:
Lightweight, comfortable and well equipped for the price. SRAM components are impressive so far. Blue and white paint scheme meets the wife's approval.

Weaknesses:
A few paint imperfections, white wheels and brake hoods are not my cup of tea.

Similar Products Used:
Bridgestone RB-1

Price Paid:  $2424.00 at Bicycle Garage Indy

Favorite Ride:
Anywhere paved

Bike Setup:
Stock except for Specialized saddle
Cateye Strada Wireless computer

Summary:
2010 Trek Madone 4.7

I had no problem getting comfortable on this bike even though I'm used to a more upright riding style. The handling is phenomenal. High-speed cornering is worry free, and the bike is agile and predictable when it comes to low-speed maneuvering.

Love the SRAM Rival group: smooth, easy shifting and strong brakes.

The carbon frame smooths out almost all of the bumps and vibrations I used to feel on my old aluminum hybrid (Trek 7500 fx with 700c x 25 tires).

Old hybrid: 15-17 mph comfy cruising
New Madone: 18-20 mph comfy cruising

And I'm just getting started. Can't wait to really put some miles on this bike.

Strengths:
Smooth ride, quick handling, solid SRAM Rival components, comfortable Bontrager Race tires (big surprise)

Weaknesses:
Stock saddle wasn't my cup of tea. Switched to a Specialized Toupe Gel.
Tiny bit of chain noise (common for SRAM from what I've read)

Similar Products Used:
Specialized Tarmac
Specialized Roubaix
Giant Defy Advanced

Price Paid:  $2500.00 at Brown Cycles (Grand

Favorite Ride:
Vail Pass

Summary:
Overall I love this bike, I went from my Mom waiting for me on rides, to waiting for her. That said I went from my Dad's 1988 Trek 1100, a bike that was fun to ride but nothing like a bike made recently.

Strengths:
The fit. For me this bike just felt like a million bucks, I tried several others before and when I got on the 4.7 I fell in love

Weaknesses:
Like others have said the saddle, havent upgrded yet (still have to pay off the bike).

Similar Products Used:
I also tried the Tarmac by Specialized, but it just didn't fit me aswell.
