Price Paid:
$950.00 Model Year: 2007 Favorite Ride: Palos Verde Loop Bike Setup: Stock. I think mostly 105 components with some Tiagra mixed in. Summary: My Specialized Multi-Sport has about 2000 miles on it, used primarily for weekend rides and commuting, and a century ride. I haven't had any issues yet even though it was my first road bike and I've taken less than stellar care of it. Great bike for a beginner, even if you're using it as a road bike and not a tri. Strengths: Good Value. 105 components for under 1k is nice. Weaknesses: None that come to mind. Wheels are heavy and I wore the stock tires out after 1000 miles, but that's acceptable given the price point and the conditions in which the bike was ridden.

Price Paid:
$1000.00 Model Year: 2007 Summary: This was the first bike I purchased specifically for triathlons. I sold it to buy a time-trial bike. I would have kept it if my wife would have let me have two bikes.

at Bicycle Village Model Year: 2005 Favorite Ride: Lookout Mountain Bike Setup: Aluminum frame, S4 carbon fork, carbon seat post. 105's front and back. Mostly stock bike with rocket motor on top. Added bottle cages and Look Keo pedals (personal preference). Summary: Great bike for beginner triathlete or for beginner roadie looking for something a bit more versatile than pure road bike. Got this bike to bridge between road rides and tri's. This is a bike I am comfortable riding up mountains, descending them too and getting into tuck on the flat spots. I've put about 3000-3500 miles on this bike and I've had no major problems. Strengths: Decent components for money.
Easy to ride.
Stable. Weaknesses: No major complaints. The wheels could be better. Stiff over bumps in road, but that's an aluminum frame for ya.

at The Bike Shop, Honol Model Year: 2007 Bike Setup: 54cm Stock with Cat Eye and Armadillo Kevlar Tires Summary: First off let me admit that this is my FIRST ever road bike. I bought it to start training for and competing in triathalons. I have pretty good experience in mountain bikes but the road bike was a new experience. I chose this bike based on the componetery and the fact that it was not a full-blown tri bike. It still has some road bike qualities that make it easier for beginner triatheletes to learn on, which is what a few of my friends had recommended. The geometry is nice and fits my frame well. Overall I'm pleased so far. I'm rating it a 4 because of my inexperience with road bikes. Strengths: Shimano 105 Componetery shifts smoothly; Weight;
