Summary:
This is a awesome movie about old school cycling. Roger De Vlammick, Freddy Martens, Moser and Merckx square off on the primitive yet sacred cobbles of Paris-Roubaix (1976). It takes you from the day before the race where they arrive at the start town. It follows all the last minute preparations of all the stars including what De Vlamick had breakfast.

The race strategically turned into a situation of Merckx versus the rest, as he loses his team too early.

The coverage showed what the local folks are doing in bars as the race approaches the towns, which is fascinating yet wonderful for an American to watch- a bar room full of people fixated on the TV for a bike race.

They even show the painters painting the sponsor logo on the velodrome finish line in case you ever wondered how they did that.

The film concludes at the showers as the riders are in the nude cleaning off.

Strengths:
Gives you all the fascinating details behind the great race of days go by, and gives you a real sense of the deep cultural roots of the sport in Europe. The film does an excellent job demonstating how brutal the sport really is.

Weaknesses:
The video quaility drops off during the final hour or so of the race as the film producer tapped into the French telivision feed of the event. They also had some pretty awful gothic music inserted in the film.
