Any saddle can be comfortable, it depends upon body type, style of riding etc. I thought I had the measure of a Selle Italia SLR but on long distance rides it was becoming a big comfort problem. No matter how much I wanted this saddle to work for me anything over 50 miles was literally a pain in the rear. During my last 100 mile ride it finally dawned on me that the SLR and I were done. The last 30 miles were excruciating and it took a week for my tush to recover. A quick search for a Fizik Aliante as a replacement turned up nothing I could afford, an Aliante is what I have on my commuter/training bike and its awesome, best saddle ever. The Prologo Scratch seems to be the next best thing and I found one on EBAY for $50 shipped (used - mounted never ridden). Its a very good saddle, looks good, is well made and so far is very comfortable. Forget about weight, its heavier than the SLR but I don't care, my rear is happy and the performance benefits I get from that are much more important than 100 grams of saddle. Its about as comfy as the Aliante and reminds me of the first generation Flites. Minimalist saddles, no thanks!
