Using rigid carbon from toe to heel, the Eagle 6's carbon layup has been designed to accommodate torsional stress and impact resistance. Additionally, the carbon layup is thinner at the toes, guaranteeing an efficient power transfer without strangling the foot's biomechanics on long trail rides. This design promotes circulation, helps to eliminate hot spots, and is forgiving to the tendons. Though, the main draw is still the explosive power efforts that the sole enables without feeling like a block of wood.The Eagle 6's sole efficiency has been further enhanced by the upper retention systems and material selection. The top of the foot is secured by the Ratcheting Caliper Buckle and two High Security Velcro straps. The ratchet buckle enables a dialed-in, secure fit with its adjustable design that's been mated to the Soft Instep 2 upper. For larger feet, the buckle's height can be adjusted to stretch over the foot. For durability, the Velcro straps have inset rubber teeth that minimize wear and strengthen the holding power of the straps against the upward force of the foot. To ensure that the shoe is guiding your feet on the upward pedal stroke, the Eagle 6 includes Sidi's Heel Security System. This adjustable system acts as an additional reinforcement around the top of the heel cup to eliminate heel lift, and thus increases efficiency when you're really torquing on the cranks.
