Strength:

Handling high speed turns

Weakness:

Durability, ride comfort

These are good tires, especially when it comes to handling. I noticed that with these I do not have to leabn as much in turns as I do with Conti's or Vittoria. They get cuts like crazy. I don't like the feel of the ride compared to others i've tried. Hard to describe, but the ride they give feels less pliant/ supple than others.

Strength:

Cornering, rolling resistance.

Weakness:

Durability

These tires came on my 1999 Raleigh R700, slick with good tack, corners well and low rolling resistance. They wear after a thousand miles or so, but personally a tire is a trade off and I will take handling over durability. Only had one flat due to a goat head thorn.

Performance

Weakness:

$$, not durable

These came OEM on my first bike purchase in ~2000 on a Cannondale. The tires performed well (low rolling resistance, good cornering), but the are prone to flats and wear out quickly. I had trouble keeping my tire more than 1000 miles. For whatever reason, I kept replacing with Axial Pros, but I am finally off of that habit.

Strength:

Light, soft ride, low rolling resistance

Weakness:

Wear out quickly

These are OK tires. They roll well, are light, stick well, and ride a bit softer than Conti's. IMO, they're a bit prone to premature wear. I get better mileage out of almost everything else I use.

Strength:

light, handles dry roads well

Weakness:

gets cust or punctured easily, not for wet weather

These tires are light and ride well the dry conditions. It's a completely racing tire, so I guess it's to be expected it gets cut easily. Something on the road sliced my front ire right open and I bought another Axial Pro to replace it. After 2 years of use, the rear tire is full of tiny and not-so-tiny cuts in it. Also, these tires seem to flat quite easily. If puncture resistance is an issue for you, you might want to look elsewhere. They are also not cheap.

Strength:

Weight, Grip. The confidence it inspires is second to none

Weakness:

Just do not expect a long life. But it is a race tire, and thus it should not last forever.

By far teh best Road Racing Clincher Available. Bar none. It grips, it is light and it is fast.

Strength:

Nice grip. Light cut resistant.

Weakness:

Quality issues - Bulge - Casing failure - separation between the different durometer rubber.

Got these on a new bike and was pretty excited to have such a nice tire. After 1200 miles they are gone. My rear tire had a slight bulge in the casing (500 miles). Eventually I got separation between the different color plys on the tread (3/8" split in the seam - 900 miles). Several hundred miles later I had the inside casing start to separate. The rough, frayed surface of the casing started to wear through tubes. After a couple of flats I figured out what was going on. Needless to say this was kind of turn off to Michelin tires. I'd like to try the Carbons but am a little leary. The tire were used a lot for city riding but the failure seemed to be more of a factory QC issue.

Strength:

Light, long wearing and excellent handling.

Weakness:

None so far.

I've had great luck with Ax Pros. I've tried close to 20 different tire sets across all manufacturers and Mich has always been the best overall. At 200g, these offer fantastic performance and durability. Not sure why people are saying they're cut prone. I bought a pair in early May and rode them hard all summer without a single flat (estimate 200-250/wk avg.) and just rotated them. I've recenly been caught in the rain on a few rides and haven't seen a cut yet. Ya, they're unstable in the rain but all tires are if they don't channel water. Do race cars use slicks in the rain? Also, remember when reading these reviews that a tire that flats on a reviewer in it's first mile doesn't mean it's a bad tire, it means there is glass a mile from that person's house and anyone who flats twice every ride and blames their tires should pay closer attention to the road or find a different sport.
