Strengths: Small, Relatively cheap for an integrated cyclometer that has altimiter.Weaknesses: Difficult interface, poorly documented, and not much customer support in the US.Bottom Line: I think you are being a little bit too harsh on CicloSport. I've used it now for 3 years - not without problems.
I only had to change batteries once or twice year. But the wireless sensor is getting old, (the plastic screw cap is the weakspot. I now use a razor blade to pop it open. Once that part goes, the unit is junk. I dont know were you can buy parts for these things, but next time I will look for a good US technical support org.
But its working ok for now. When the batteries weaken it can give false readings.
Amazingly, its still working, although I never did get the PC interface to work, thanks to some incompatibility with their software and my PC. The instructions are hilariously bad (translated to english from german via some primitive transaction program..)

Strengths: Intuitive pages. Easy to download info to computer.Weaknesses: Only weakness is that the integration of altitude (total ascent and descent) is about 10-20 % low, until you download the data to a PC. Then the PC gives a more accurate summation.Bottom Line: This was a gift, but I've been very pleased with the CM436. I'm surprised to read the negative comments on the Ciclosport CM436. I've used mine for years, with no problem. I replace the batteries once a year (only once in the sender in 4 or 5 years). The computer inerface is adequate, and the amount of data that it can store is muchmore than I will ever care to keep.

Strengths: I liked the idea of capturing my ride on my computer, but the thing is just not reliable and the interface stinks. Skip CicloSports products.Weaknesses: Expensive, unreliable, lasts less then 2 years.Bottom Line: CicloSport makes the crappiest computers, they break after less than 2 years, and consume batteries at least every 2 months. Every time you have to setup the thing again, even though it has a computer interface. The User Interface on the bike computer and PC Software stinks!
Favorite Ride: San Francisco to Palo Alto

$200.00
Purchased At: Performance Bike
Similar Products Used: All brands of bike computers. CicloSport has been the worse.
