Strengths: The price was $9.77 plus taxWeaknesses: No off switch. Must be reconfigured every time you use it. Battery is #2032 coin battery, which can't be recharged and are costly.Bottom Line: Was $30 originally, bought it for $9.77, got what I paid for. My heart goes out to those who paid $30 for it, but I can now understand why it was on clearance.
Installation is not that terrible, in hindsight, but took some fine-tuning to get it functioning. Sensors must be within 4mm of magnets to register.
Since there is no off switch, you turn it off by removing the battery cover (and battery). Thus at minimum it must be reconfigured with respect to language, units (Metric or English) and wheel size code *every time* it is used.
One LBS owner told me they stopped stocking these because they had so many problems.
BTW mine is the predecessor of the model that this review is assigned to (mine is a model SI-2), but on the Serfas Web site, the user manual for the model HWC-3 is literally the manual for the SI-2. It appears they didn't even create a new manual for the HWC-3!
