at BikeWorld Favorite Ride: any road with minimal car traffic Bike Setup: Trek 5700 stock (for now) Summary: As long as you don't drop this thing, it works fairly well. Strengths: Easy to setup and use. Weaknesses: Three things come to mind: 1: the battery ran out after 6 months of use (I only put 900 miles on the bike/computer during this time). 2: More importantly, I dropped the unit from 4 feet (after the battery died) and when I replaced the battery, all I got was "gibberish" as detailed by someone else here. After putting the battery in and out about 6 times, the unit finally "reset" itself and I could read the display. The unit seems to be working correctly now. Whew, hopefully I dodged a bullet this time. 3: Per the manual, the unit is susceptible to "... Interference from high-frequency engines or electric motors" It then displays an incorrect Maximum Speed, sometimes 55-95 MPH (Yeah right). What I have discovered is that if I happen to ride under high voltage power lines I can be pretty much assured that I will have an incorrect Max speed. While this is not a big deal, it's still annoying. Similar Products Used: none, but tempted to buy something else
