Strengths:    Extremely well made. Great resistance ramp up and realism.

Weaknesses:    Heavy and has a large footprint.

Bottom Line:
Let's face it, one of the main reasons I bought this trainer was fear of harming my carbon frame. If that makes me sill...so be it. The side to side movement on their unit is stiff, so don't think you're going to flop all over the place. If you sit there and ride, it won't move hardly at all...like any other trainer. Get out of the saddle however, it will let you crank on it like you really are putting the hammer down.

Like any other Kurt, the resistance is variable and can really ramp up when you take it to the harder gears...52/11 is freaking tough if you really want to beat on yourself. On the other hand, in 36/20's...it will let you spin away all day long. the ramp up and coast is smooth and feels great.

My only real complaint (which is minor) is that the thing is heavy and has a very large footprint...which is ok for me personally figuring I don't move the thing. If you had to put it away every time you use it...it could be a real pain. If you want to drag a trainer out to the pre-race on race day...this is definitely not the one for you.

Concerning price...I got mine on clearance but even at retail, it isn't a bad deal. This unit is really that well made, once you see one for yourself, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Is the side to side movement really needed or is it just hype and uphill training effect? Im a big guy and getting on the traine ... Read More »

Problem with Kinetic Rock n Roll Trainer

I just picked up a Kinetic Rock n Roll and I have a bit of trouble with it. The unit creaks and groans as I rock the bike, it seems to be coming from the skewer clamp interface. It's really disconcerting. Has anyone else had the problem? How did you fix it? Thanks!Read More »
