Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
To clarify, my review is for the Performance Century magnetic trainer. While it was an inexpensive trainer, the build quality was not great. The clamping system is a bit too flexible for my liking. The resistance unit wasn't really great; setting 2 was a bit on the easy side, 3 was way too hard, and it's not like I really lack horsepower, either. I assume that the build quality on the one I got was an anomaly; I ordered a Performance fluid trainer, and the frame looks almost identical.

Strengths:
Economical.

Weaknesses:
Resistance unit could be better. Quality of construction not so good.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
The product is attractive for its price and is nice looking, but I suppose you get what you pay for. In my experience, it can be tough to get set up and then have the bike collaspe(have read instructions, talked to people and used other trainers without collaspe). This is particularly irritating because you are trying to get your work out in and you can't because you can't even get set up. I have been very disapointed with the trainer

Strengths:
It was cheap.

Weaknesses:
The trainer does not lock into a stable position. It is easy to overtighten and not have rear wheel positioned correctly.

Similar Products Used:
I have used Cycle-Ops and found that to be smoother and a better made product.

Price Paid:  $89.00 at Performance BS

Bike Setup:
Quintana Roo Tequilo - tri bike w/ full ultegra.

Summary:
Disclaimer - I have never used a trainer before so i have no other point of reference. I was looking for an inexpensive intro model and test drove the Performance Fluid and a Minora (sp?) - both more $$. I thought the feel/performance for the money didn't warrant the extra expense. I have ridden the trainer three times - 1 hour each time. So far no complaints and a heck of a lot better than freezing my face off... by the way, my wife can comfortably watch TV with no complaints in the same room with me on the trainer - That is saying a lot. Not silent but quiet enough

Strengths:
Price

Weaknesses:
No remote
