    Price Paid:  $0.00

    Favorite Ride:
Downhills with curves at 40 mph

    Bike Setup:
IF Crown Jewel, Chrous hubs, Record brakes, Athena/Racing Triple shifting

    Summary:
Close to the perfect hub, especially for those that do their own maintenance!

It is very light. It requires only 2-5mm and one 2.5mm allen wrenches to maintain. It comes apart in seconds, and you spend more time cleaning away old grease than anything else. It reassembles in seconds, and the way to adjust is unique:

You set the bearings loose, put the wheel on the bike, and tighten the QR skewer. Then you turn the lock ring until the play just disappears. Tighten the set screw, and you have a perfectly adjusted set of wheel bearings. (Oh yeah, they're quite smooth...)

    Strengths:
Design, ease of adjustment and maintenance, lignt weight.

    Weaknesses:
For spoke geeks, you are told, in several places, NEVER to use radial spoking.

    Similar Products Used:
    Dozens of conventional cone&ball hubs

    Bike Setup:
    Giotto with Chorus

    Summary:
A good hub by any mechanical measure, but not better than cheaper hubs. So can't give it too many stars

    Strengths:
It's a good hub, without any real weaknesses

    Weaknesses:
But there are dozens of equally good hubs out there that are cheaper because it doesn't have winged wheel logo, so it is a royal rip off.

    Similar Products Used:
Record (an even bigger rip off!), Dura ace (just as big of an rip off), Ultegra (still a rip off), Veloce (reasonable)

    Bike Setup:
    Bianchi Veloce

    Summary:
Great hub! It performs like the record and is less expensive. As mentioned earlier, the hub is extremely light
and very trust-worthy (taking all the abuse a collegiate rider can dish out)!

    Strengths:
    Performance / Durability / Weight

    Weaknesses:
Chrome finish may rub off! (strictly for cosmetic purposes)
