at Once Ridden used and Favorite Ride: Specialized 2001 sirrus comp Bike Setup: Mid 80's Nishiki Olympic 12, converted to a 16 speed, with the rear wheel now a Mavic open pro laced to a shimano 105, from the 5500 series. Summary: I bought these rims as a set about 4 years ago, and I was pleased at first. However, after having to have the rear wheel trued time after time, and having a riding style that doesn't include blasting through pot holes or jumping curbs, or gravel pits, I found my rear wheel never stayed true. I finally had the damn thing warp on me after being on the northern end of the Olentangy trail. I don't know if it was the build on the rear wheel or if Alex rims have other problems, but the front wheel is the one that survived and I've never had a problem with it. I would say that unless you know the person who builds the wheel I now stay away from all Alex rim products.By the way both rims are 32 spoke rims, and I weight 200lbs. Strengths: Strong front wheel, don't know what to say about the rear on. Weaknesses: Will warp on you unless you have it built by a wheel smith you can trust. Similar Products Used: none other.
