Strengths: weight and looksWeaknesses: Spokes come loose during use, difficult to remain true, nipples Rust RUST! and the paint on the spokes comes off easily also the hole where the valve is for the tube has sharp edges.Bottom Line: These Rims are light stylish and have a good brand name but are not immune to problems (Front Only)

Strengths: cost?Weaknesses: spokesBottom Line: I've only put about 1000 miles on these wheels and now I'm dealing with broken spokes and the rear wheel becoming untrue constantly. Not happy. Saving up for Mavic Ksyrium's.

Bottom Line: I have Alex R500 wheels on my MBK RD100 race bike, and I have had no end of trouble with these wheels, firtly the spokes on the front wheel came very loose. Now every two weeks I seem to break a spoke on the rear. I'm not heavy about 12 and a half stone, ride on pretty smooth road (no major pot holes) so why do they keep breaking? Don't buy these wheels there rubbish

Strengths: Great for eating up tubesWeaknesses: Just about anything a wheel is supposed to doBottom Line: These rims are garbage. Stay away from the Alex R-500 rims. Experienced 5 flats in 20 miles. Rims were are out of round as new.
