Strengths: Light, aero, ride like a tubular. A little retro looking w/ my DT hubs & spokes (all blacked out) but I like that.Weaknesses: Perfect for me (160lbs) but if you're a heavier rider, sprint monster, want super stiff or just don't want to ever true your wheels, I'd consider going to 28 or 32 hole front and 32 hole rear.Bottom Line: Similar experience with previous (first) reviewer. Over analyzed almost every possible custom wheel combination and settled on a 'semi custom' setup from Handspun. HED C2 rims, DT 240 hubs, DT Aerolite spokes, 24 hole front, 28 hole rear. VERY happy with them. Been riding/racing/commuting 20+ years and these are probably the best all around wheels I've had. I'm not a weight weenie, but they're pretty light...pretty aero...pretty stiff and they ride similar to a tubular. I now believe their marketing hype. Obviously if you dedicate a lot of time and money to the sport you'll likely have a set of aero wheels, a set of race wheels, etc, but these are super nice rims/wheels that will cover 90% of the riding for 90% of riders. I put in 12,000+ miles a year commuting, group riding and an occasional race so I'll hopefully have some longer term feedback soon but so far...A+++.

Wider rim may not be compatible with all frames.Bottom Line: I got excited when I read the initial reviews of the HED Ardennes C2 wheelset. I didn't have the cash flow to buy that wheelset ($1100) so I settled for the next best thing: I built my own on their rims. I built up a pair of 32 hole rims, with White Industries hubs, 3x, 14/15 gauge spokes, black, alloy nipples all around--except for the drive side.
The rim was very easy to work with. The rim profile is semi-aero which allows spoke tension of 140kg no problem. You'll strip your alloy nipples before you hurt this rim.
The rim reacts predictably to tensioning--even when you get over 100kg tension on the spokes.
The wheels perform beautifully. I weigh about 180 lb, and I found that 90-95 psi on my road bike was the ideal inflation. Taking 20+ psi out of my tires, and strapping my Conti 4000s (23mm) to a wider rim completely transformed my Cannondale Six13. Now I want to ride the bike. My bike is faster, brakes better, rides better, and handles better.
I put the wheels on my cross bike, and did a dozen races including Iron Cross with plenty of single track. No problems. The wheels are still true.
The wheelset is about 1600 grams. Do yourself a favor: skip the Ksyriums and have your LBS build you a set of these.
