Will refit most any Road or MTB bike originally equipped w/ Quick Release Skewers. Final length cut to fit by you at time of installation.
Perfect for quick trips where a full bike lockup is not warranted. No "special key" to keep track of. Complete with front skewer, rear skewer and two (2) handy 8mm wrenches. Steel 5mmx1.00 OD shaft with 3/4" diameter washers, 58 grams.
Strengths: Very good price. They provide solid basic security. No worrying about losing or stripping out a cheap Chinese key.
Weaknesses: Not as much security as a pair of german made $60 Pit Locks.
Bottom Line:
Nothing fancy, these skewers are best suited for domestic service, securing the wheels of university students and commuting folks. Steel shaft with two (2) nylon insert screws on one end and a permanently attached acorn nut on the other end. Surprisingly difficult to remove without the assistance of two (2) wrenches. (two flat steel 8mm wrenches are supplied in the kit) Lighter than most road skewers (58 grams). Fit road bike or MTB.
