Bike Setup:
serotta

Summary:
i got these w/ my heliums and from the very first ride the front skewer had this rattle in it. the levers are spring loaded (leave it to mavic to complicate a once very simple component) so they kind of snap into place when you close them. my front one would close all the way, but still have a little bit of play in it, which would cause a slight rattle/buzz when going over rough roads. it held the wheel in place, but the rattle bothered me. my solution: dropped a little bit of crazy glue down inbetween the seem joining the lever to the cam mechanism. worked great.

there are cheaper, lighter skewers out there. but you gotta have mavic skewers to go w/ yer mavic wheels, eh?

Strengths:
mavic!

Weaknesses:
rattle

Favorite Ride:
Any without traffic!

Bike Setup:
•Litespeed Tuscany, Campy Record 10 grouppo, Nucleon & Shamal tubular wheels, Mavic O.P. clinchers (the O.P. wheels were free, so I couldn't refuse 'em!).

Summary:
I'd agree with the review below - these are good skewers functionally, but not the lightest set considering their price. Also they have fairly short levers compared to others - such as the Salsa Ti's, which makes closing them more difficult if you're trying to get a good, solid mounting of the wheel to the bike.

Just like everything else made by Mavic, the price is higher than most competing products of equal or better quality. These silver skewers came with the MR-601 hubs I bought (you get black one's with Ksyrium wheels which are also over-priced), but if you're looking for a separate set of skewers - you can get a lighter set for the same price as the Mavic's.

Strengths:
•Good build quality & looks.

Weaknesses:
•Too expensive compared to Ti skewers.
•Levers are too short.

Similar Products Used:
•Campy Record skewers.
•Shimano Ultegra.
•Black Ksyrium skewers (same thing, just black instead of silver.)

Favorite Ride:
Hwy1 South

Bike Setup:
Specialized M2 Pro with Dura Ace, Cosmic wheels

Summary:
Great quality skewer set...but if you want to get lightweight skewers..try something with titanium rods. At least your not spending $60 for a name. But if you have the dough and you want something that could even grace the lines of Campy Record, these would be a good choice.

Strengths:
Jewel like finish, very high quality, delrin washers make them easy to close them.

Weaknesses:
Could have titanium rods. Price because they aren't Ti.

Control tech, Campy Record stock, Ringle twisters
