Strengths:    Good ride...puncture resistance
not too expensive

Weaknesses:    None so far

Bottom Line:
I bought these tires at a local shop when I cut a tire on my bike. There wasn't a large selection that day and I took a chance on the RL's. I weigh 150 lbs, ride a Cannondale System 6, and run 115+ psi. I've put a few hundred miles on these tires and I'm very happy with them. The area where I ride has some very steep hills and fast flats with both smooth roads, RR crossings and some very rough pavement.
The ride and feel of the tires is very good. The rolling resistance seems as good as any bike in the group that I ride with and they should be more puncture resistant than my old tires. The RL's are supposed to be all weather tires but I only take this bike out in dry conditions and can't comment on wet weather traction. I'm not a racer but I do like to ride hard, and this is an adequate tire for my requirements.
Given no unforeseen problems I would buy the Bontragers again.

Guru RL

Would appreciate any feedback on this frame. I can pick up a bike off a friend for cheap, but he was never a serious rider and has no clue. I have only really known of Guru for the last 2 years and there is not much information on this frame. Thanks.Read More »

Bontrager RL Wheelset

I've read that the older Bontrager wheels were prone to failure - cracked rims, etc. The interwebs are full of take-offs, e.g. 2013, 2014 new/almost new Bontrager wheelsets. On one hand, that's great- can pick up a $900 wheelset for $400... but on the other hand, there could be a reason all these ne ... Read More »

Who wear Bontrager RL road shoes, please help.

I would like to know how to read the format of manufacturing date. I saw from the printed label inside the shoes. The date is shown as 10-01-2012. I'm wondering if this is a manufacturing date. If so, my shoes were manufactured in October 1, 2012 or January 10,2012? [FONT=Tahoma ... Read More »

Bontrager Inform RL Shoe Problem

I got a used pair of 2012 Bontrager Inform RLs, from eBay for a steal. After about 900 miles - I noticed the cleat threads inside the carbon soles came unbonded and the cleats now have too much scary "float." What can you suggest I do to repair this? I hate to toss them, because they are practic ... Read More »
