Strengths:    Low price, good initial puncture resistance, easy to mount by hand.

Weaknesses:    Heavy, wear quickly for their high tpi and weight.

    Bottom Line:
These came with my Lemond bike in 700c/25 size. I put about 2000 km trouble free on these tires, but have punctured the rear 3 times in my last 8-10 rides. It's definitely due for replacement, just haven't gotten around to it yet, but the tread is getting very worn (on the rear). I am very diligent about correct inflation and weigh 175-185 lbs depending on the season.

These tires are heavier than I would like, not very grippy under braking and seem to squirm a bit while cornering, although I haven't tried different tires on the same wheels, which might share some of the blame.

I plan to replace these with Hutchinson Fusion 3 in the 23 size.

    Bottom Line:
I have ridden 4000 miles on these tires and the rear one finally wore through...they would've lasted even longer if I had rotated them, maybe another 1,000 miles or so. Only had a flat once when I rolled over some post-New Year's reveling debris (I am a bike path commuter mostly, but some city street biking). Very happy with these tires: good quality, roll well, and can't beat the price. I would shell out another $5 for the Kevlar (Select K). I'm going to try out the Conti Gatorskin (much pricier at ~$44 a pop) but I would recommend these Bontrager tires to anyone looking for a decent, good-quality, moderately-priced tire.

    Bottom Line:
perfectly adequate training/high-mileage/recreational tire - they don't ride like a race tire, but they don't cost as much as one either

Strengths:    They have a brand name.

Weaknesses:    Size isn't correctly stated. Bead failure under very minimal use.

    Bottom Line:
I was planning on using these tires for some onroad day touring and commuting. The friend who gave them to me had them come on his bike. He purchased his bike late last fall and used it infrequently. Even the rear tire still had mold forms on it. However, after inflating my 700x28c tire to the sidewall directed 100 PSI (well, actually I only chose 90) and letting it sit in a shaded room out of the sun the bead seperated from the tire and the tube exploded.

Also, just for giggles, I decided to measure how wide this 28mm tire is. Well, turns out it's only 26mm wide. I measured another Bontrager tires (a 700x25C Racelite) and it was also 2mm narrower than it was supposed to be. The only tires I have ever had this happen with were my generic Performance brand Forte Kevlar tires for $12.
