Cannondale CAAD9, Durace components with HED Ardennes wheels

    Summary:
I bought this 700 x 25 cc tire to replace the GP Attack rear tire. I have had three flats in as many weeks. The tire rides well but my confidence is very low due to it's low puncture resistence. I plan to replace soon.

    Strengths:
    ride comfort and speed

    Weaknesses:
    punture prone

2003 Salsa Campeon Frame (Scandium/Aluminum Alloy w/ Carbon Seat Stays and fork) w/ 2008 Ultegra 10-Speed Gruppo and Mavic Aksiums. Shimano 105 SPD-SL pedals. Great ride

    Summary:
I bought these tires because I wanted something that would grip well and be fairly puncture-resistant. These tires fulfilled both of those requirements. In a year of riding about 3,000 miles, I only had a few flats and they stuck very nicely in the corners. My only complaint is that in one week, one tire flatted through a peetration in the sidewall and the other developed a serious bulge in the sidewall. I had to replace both at once.

    Strengths:
Good in the corners and good penetration resistance.

    Weaknesses:
A bit pricey and they both had sidewall issues.

    Price Paid:  $0.00

    Summary:
Review of new GP4000 tyre - black tread and side wall with silver lettering (from late 2008).

Grip is massively improved over the 4season / gatorskin - its a sticky to the touch compound that really holds the roads well, both in dry and semi-wintery conditions. Ideal tyre for summer and autumnal conditions.

Rolls very well (run them at 100-110psi) and gives good traction when climbing, braking and cornering.

The full black side wall resolves the problems on the side wall cuts that the old ribbed conti tyres seemed to fail with a lot.

NB - I don't have to check these for glass anywhere as often as my 4seasons I use for training - they resist picking up glass and cuts a lot better than other tyres used.

    Strengths:
Killer looks, fast rolling and good cornering.

    Weaknesses:
Put about 2k miles on them so far, no punctures to date. I do wonder how they will look when the age (grey?)..

Quite expensive (paid @ 30GBP each)
