Price Paid:  $20.00 at REI

Favorite Ride:
Beach Bike path

Bike Setup:
Vintage Raleigh Technium 420 Road bike 27" Rigida Wheels 6 Speed Suntour Accushift. Diacompe Brakes and Tektro Aero Levers.

Summary:
I bought the 27x1/14 version of this tire. In this size it is a pretty decent tire but at 700x23c look elsewhere. I haven't had any flats with mine but they do seem to pick things up and hold on to them in the tread surface. The one thing I must say is the grip is amazing and the ride is soft but this tire is slow. It feels like a beach cruiser tire on your road bike.

Strengths:
Cheap, amazing grip, soft ride and look good.

Weaknesses:
Attract debris, high rolling resistance, and bad reputation.

Bike Setup:
Old Schwinn Traveler (1970's)

Summary:
I have them on an old Schwinn and rolled around 2500 miles on them and took a good look at them today-10/28/09-and they look like they can make it another 2000m.
Don't know if they will or would but sure do look it. 27"x1-1/4"

Strengths:
Wear is fine for me. No flats but I know the roads I ride on.

Weaknesses:
Holding up ok so I don't have a bone to pick. They are 27"x1-1/4" tires.

Price Paid:  $20.00 at lbs

Favorite Ride:
up, up, up, dowwwwn

Bike Setup:
1980 Miyata 610, upgraded components, ect. but sticking with 27's on this one. Bike rack for carrying panniers. load 40 lbs on it and commute 40 miles to work, each way.

Summary:
1n the 27" size, these are some of the best tires. Relatively supple and responsive ride, compared to anything else in this size. Compared to what I run on my 700c race bike, they are not great.
I run slime light tubes, so flats are not a problem, despite Utah goats head thorns.

Strengths:
Good choice for 27". Got >2000 miles out of them.

Weaknesses:
not as supple as, say, a continental 4000.

Price Paid:  $20.00 at Performance

Favorite Ride:
Down a long hill.

Summary:
They work all right...
...until they blow 100 miles later.

Strengths:
Well, they're inexpensive, so you won't go broke replacing them so often.

Weaknesses:
Weak tires. I can't believe it's debris, I keep finding holes in the sidewall. Replaced tubes, even got a new set of these (like an idiot). One tire will not last 200 miles.

Similar Products Used:
More expensive tires, such as I'll be buying again shortly.

Price Paid:  $25.00 at LBS

Favorite Ride:
Sweaty

Summary:
I used these tires for over a year, and had only a few issues with them. I only flatted once as a result of the tire allowing some glass through, and the tire was still usable afterward. They aren't the lightest tires, but they run just fine. If you happen to destroy one, they're still only half the price of a GP4000 or Gatorskin.

I ended up replacing them because I made the rear tire lose its curvature by running it on a trainer clamped down too hard over the winter. Would still have them, otherwise.

Strengths:
Cheap
Durable

Weaknesses:
Lacking extra features like Black Chili compound, extra puncture liners, etc.

Similar Products Used:
GP4000, Gatorskin
