The Contact Extra Light delivers the excellent grip and reliability with a slightly lighter tread. This decreased mass allows the tire to roll more smoothly and delivers an enhanced road feel. Strengths:    Roll well, light for size, go on easy

Weaknesses:    NOT puncture resistant

Bottom Line:

Purchased these because of "SafetySystem anti puncture layer with Kevlar® " and very postitive experience w/ Conti Gator Skins. I've had the Gators on my road bike and commuter for several years and not one flat!!! I wanted a larger tire for dirt roads and light commuting and figured the Contact would offer the same level of puncture resistance. Alas, I flatted on my 3rd or 4th ride! ....shoulda just forked out the extra for Schwables.
