Product Description

The CountryRIDE is a great multi-use tire. It has smoother treads to reduce rolling resistance on the roads, but still enough traction to take to the trails and tour the paths, fields, and forests around you.

Strengths:    round. black.

Weaknesses:    composition or construction, I dont know, but split cracked trash after a couple years.

Bottom Line:
Continental Countryride 28 x 1 3/8 , 1 5/8
Bought new from a LBS.
Previously had 10 years on whatever tires Bridgestone put on the new XO5 at the end of their existence but wanted to buy "insurance" for a trip.

Bought the Conti & new tubes and brought the works to China. Rode maybe 1000 km tops in flat paved Shanghai. Wear not really noticeable

BUT

Brought the bike back, aired em up after a few months and found both tires cracked just about everywhere - almost 100% split entire circumference at crown down to the cords, many smaller cracks sidewalls.

Wife's bike with about 1/10 that much use but the same time period , same split cracked junk.

Strengths:    nice tread for dirt roads; decent when they sink in shallow mud

Weaknesses:    heavy, but who cares? they're 37mm!

Bottom Line:
I have a set of old wheels that I use as beaters on dirt roads and rough terrain. I got the Conti Country Ride tires for these wheels. The tread is fairly smooth in the center with deeper tread on the outer edges. I can ride from home to the dirt and keep going.
