Price Paid:
$0.00 Bike Setup: caad 5...dura ace open 4 cd Summary: This is my third and last set of basic reflex and my last set of hutchinson tires period!
They are prone to flats. Have thin casing and a low thread count. Not alot of rubber on em adn they wear out way too quick. Have ridden Contis, my fav, and mich and none of these wear out this quick. 2 Sets of training tires per year you will have to buy iof you ride more than 15 miles per day. Utter crap.....This last set i had was over in just 3 months of use. No conti i have ever owned did that to me. This is not jsut a coninsidence either as all three sets of these did this to me but i bought them to save a few pounds as i am poor. Well, wont be doing that again Strengths: uhhh...let me think....cant think of any other than they just got me through till i needed a new set Weaknesses: too many to mention.....spend your money on something else unless you like buying tires more than twice a year for just riding around 25 miles a day.

at LBS Olympia, Washing Bike Setup: Bianchi San Lorenzo w/DA Summary: Hutchinson tires are total crap. I got a Hutch Reflex about three months ago to replace my cursed Michelin (don't get me wrong I love my miche's but this particular tire had a thing for flats). I first noticed the poor quality as I put the tire on and saw that it had way too much clearance between the bead and the rim, i.e. the tire was almost too big for the rim. After about 3 rides and a little over a hundred miles the contact surface was already worn to flat. Within a month the sidewalls started showing threads, and along the way I've had about 7 flats. Given this was mounted on the rear which usually gets more wear and tear it still didn't even come close to the performance you could get from any other brand of tire, I've used Vredestien, Continental, Michellin and others and they all work infinately better that Hutchinson. A good tire will fit snugly on the rim, be resistant to flats, and still have casting marks on the tread after over 100 miles. Hutchinson's tires don't do any of the three. Strengths: none Weaknesses: Flats, Poor fit, wear out way too easily Similar Products Used: conti, miche, vredi and others
