Hutchinson takes the 5 top places at the 2003 Het Volk race, the first of the Belgium Classics! The Belgium team Quick-Step dominated the race, with Johann Musseuw winning over second place postal rider Max Van Heesswijk. Quick-Step riders Paolo Bettini, Franck Vandenbroucke and Tom Boonen placed 3rd, 4th and 5th, and all were riding Hutchinson Tires!
I thought that these tires would be a good deal as I bought them on sale. However, I was wrong. I raced them in a local crit and the gold coloured rubber slipped out on the first corner. Then I rode them in a 40k TT and they punctured 25 minutes in.
