Strengths:    Little rolling resistance, deep tread is great in wet conditions-it's fun to hear these tires hiss through standing water.

Weaknesses:    Puncture resistance is poor, which I attribute to the deep and narrow tread design. It seems custom-made to collect all the things you don't want your tires to collect!

    Bottom Line:
I ride in a difficult environment, on the shoulders of public roads and very often at night or before daybreak--hence, avoiding debris is difficult to impossible. That having been said, I have been sorely disappointed by the puncture resistance of these tires. Like other reviews, I suspect that the deep tread grabs and holds small chunks of glass and metal that are difficult to see and dislodge. I'm getting new tires to day with a shallower tread.

Strengths:    Relatively light weight, extreme durability, easy rollin', punctureless riding if you stay on the road

Weaknesses:    little stones that get stuck in the threads of the tyre; if Michelin changes that design this tyre is perfect. Almost, because the grip when taking a good turn doesn't seem to be very steady.

    Bottom Line:
If you stay on the road most of the time, this is the tyre to get and to hold. This is my second pair of Transworld City's in 4 year; I've driven at least 12.000 km, most of them with luggage. One flat tyre in 4 years, the durability of this tyre is amazing. I don't get off the road many times, the grip of this tyre doesn't seem to fit riding through sandy or muddy terrain.

    Strengths:    Smmoth rolling.

Weaknesses:    Puncture and noise when you start a turn.

    Bottom Line:
I've got 9 flats over 600 kms! My girl-friend who rides along with me got NONE. I had great confidence about Michelin tires since I rode them on my car for many years. The problem seems to be the narrow and deep treads that catch all the débris.

    Michelin TransWorld City. Any thoughts?

I was thinking of getting these tires (28c x 700) for my singlespeed commuter. I like the idea of the reflective strip on the sidewall. Any feedback on these tires would be welcome   Read More »
