Favorite Ride:
Tom Ritchey Max Pro

Bike Setup:
Vintage 92 Paramount 12-23 50/39

Summary:
Overall this tire gets a top rating. I've put 3800 miles on a pair in two seasons. No flats, good handling, decent ride.

Strengths:
Definitely tires resistance to flats. I've ridden over some of the nastiest roads in NY. No flats.

Weaknesses:
I don't race (top speed around 22mph)so I can't evaluate handling but I couldn't find a weak spot..save not being able to find these tires in local stores.

Favorite Ride:
Hilly Hundred

Bike Setup:
bike 1-diamondback expert, ritchey aero pro wheels(ritchey on ritchey makes the best combo), easton ec70 fork, stock tiagra components, bike 2-basso, shimano 600, profile julie fork, open pros on 600 hubs

Summary:
i have the slicks. they are the best tires i have ever had. that grip WAY better than the michelin axial pro at 10 psi higher. i can rip through downhills on these and never get a slip or shimmy. ive had 2 on my bike for about 3000 miles at least and the rear one is finally squaring off, but still has some rubber left. i was fortunate enough to buy 3 and later found 2 more. i hear they are discontinued-what a bummer. well, at least i am set for a while...oh, dont forget they are lightweight-225 grams and wire bead?!?! crazy?

Strengths:
cheap, light, great traction in all weather, can run higher psi and still get great traction, style, unique, handling

Weaknesses:
possibly discontinued- WHY?????

Similar Products Used:
michelin axial comp(trash), michelin axial pro( no traction), vitorria rubino pro

Favorite Ride:
My house to Colfax and back

Bike Setup:
02 Colnago MXL Record/Chorus mix, Mavic OP 32 14/15

Summary:
These are great tires. I have the Tom Slick version. I'd rate them right up there with Conti's or Michelin's. They are very well constructed, durable and have a low rolling resistance. I purchased 3 of these tires and 2 are still on my bike. They have a rotational mounting direction, which is the first I've seen for a road bike tire. I don't know if this really does any good and it complicates mounting if you puncture on the road, but it's no biggy. You just have to make sure you mount them in the right direction. Only one flat in 3200 miles (one tire wore out). They have a nice feel and a lot of rubber on the tire tread for a long life.

Strengths:
Very well constructed, durable, good quality. Ritchey tires are made by Victoria. Good tread life and I'm very hard on tires, riding chipped sealed mountain roads. I chew up tires very rapidly.

Weaknesses:
Alas, Ritchey dropped the Tom Slick model. I would go with the Tom Mix Comp, if on sale, but I don't like the blue sidewalls, that is the only weakness I can think of...

Favorite Ride:
Firehouse 50 Road Race Grandview ,WI

Bike Setup:
1999 Cannondale R1000 CAAD 3 with Mavic Cosmic Elites, ITM post and stem, selle italia seat

Summary:
Ritchey makes a Mix, Max and Slick. I have the Slick version. I really like them. In fact, they blow doors over my Michelin Performance ones I had prior to these. The rolling resistance is adequate and they handle training rides quite nicely. I have raced on em and rode em in the pouring rain. They are an all around good tire for training and racing. They have held up well. I will purchase another set. Plus the blue and black color combo look awesome on my Cannondale blue and yellow CAAD 3

Strengths:
Good tire for both training and racing. Cornering is excellent. Good on wet pavement as well

Weaknesses:
No apparent weaknesses after 2,100 miles

Similar Products Used:
Michelin Axial Performance
Conti's
