Koga Miyata Gran Tourer FM3 Chrome/Moly alloy frame, Shimano Ultegra 9 components. Summary:
Used several of these tires because of their durability. Yesterday, on a 700x28 tire with about 1000 miles, the outer tread came off in one piece at about 30 mph and wrapped itself into the rear gear cluster. I have never experienced this before. Apparently, the adhesive holding the outer rubber to the Kevlar failed Strengths:

700-26c, tough, long-wearing tire, a bit heavy for the size and feel hard/harsh even at low pressures; if you're having trouble with flats - try these, otherwise save the weight and get some softer tires, your teeth and lower back will thank you Strengths:
