Strengths: indestructible, the roads round here are appalling, had one nip puncture in the last two years. rode the first rear til the threads were showing and am just replacing the second rear through old age - and it's had a 5 inch glass cut all he way through the rubber for the last 6 months or so. great commuting tyres !!Weaknesses: none.Bottom Line: cracking tyres for training / commuting

Strengths: Reliable
Puncture resistance (way better than expected)
Roll fast
Look good
Great Ride
come in colors!Weaknesses: slightly expensive, but worth it
colored tread gets dingy quicky (I recommend black), but still looks fine
Probably heavier than a lot of race tires, but definitely in raceable clincher territoryBottom Line: I have these in red, on my fixed gear, came brand new when I bought the bike used. Now before you judge, remember that these tires have to hold up to some pretty ridiculous abuse. I have abused these tires far more than some other tires and these have held up better than I could have ever imagined.
First off: Ride quality. These tires, in their 120 TPI version, are like butter on pavement. Smooth and delicious. Feels amazing on a steel bike, probably even better on carbon. I run them at 90-100 PSI and they still roll very fast and smooth. I found that handling and ride quality suffer above 120 PSI, although they are rated to 140 PSI on the sidewall. No matter, you shouldn't be running them at max pressure anyway.
In a full year of riding varied roads very hard (including intermittent, but not constant skidding), these tires have flatted twice. Once was a giant shard of glass (that probably very few tires could withstand), the other was a busted tube patch. So really, they have only flatted once. They are very easy to seat and remove from my velocity aerohead rims.
I have yet to wear through any skid patches, but I am not a habitual skidder. I use a front brake like I should.
I highly recommend these and other vittoria tires. But I must stress the 120TPI version is much better, and is worth the extra expense. I will be running them on all my road bikes from now on.

Strengths: Durability while maintaining light weight for this type of tire. These were Pro II model with 120 tpiWeaknesses: Price in USA is high, you can get them 40-50% less when ordering from Europe (UK) with free delivery to USA.Bottom Line: 4352.5 miles put on the rear before needing replacement. An emergency stop finally wore through the rubber to the casing exposing some threads. The tires got nicks and cuts early in its life but never failed at any of them, I would occasionally pick out the glass etc. from the tread.

Strengths: Looks, name brandWeaknesses: Poor in the wet and unresponsive when brakingBottom Line: Vittoria Rubino - I have them on my new Orbea Onxi Ultegra gruppo and Mavic Kysium Elites. I did 20k's in the heavy rain in Brisbane and immediately ordered GP4000s. They were vague and unrespsonsive. It maybe the brake pads but they are new as is the bike, stopping power is low. A lot of review seem to favour puncture resistance as th made criteria for the good or bad review. Yes important but so is not hitting the pave at 30ks and sliding under a truck.

Strengths: Handling, control, roundness, looks.Weaknesses: Durability? Or did my tires sit in storage too long?Bottom Line: I'm writing on my second pair of Rubino Pros. The first set were great for a several thousand miles. I then sold the bike. For those tires, I'd give a something close to a five. I never got flats, they handled great, the ran smooth and round, they looked fab. The second pair have gone to pot very quickly.
First, a caveat: the 2nd set sat in a box for 4 years. They might well have been 5 years old before I installed them. So, maybe I should cut them some slack but... I've really enjoyed these tires. I've been flat free for several months (until today), which means about 1500 miles on the road. But that's some skimpy mileage considering that the tires are beginning to wear out.
Second caveat: I've used the rear on the trainer, so maybe that's burned it up the rear faster than it otherwise would have.
But... these tires are starting to go. They've got a couple of pit-nicks, and the rear is squaring a bit from hard braking.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to replace them with only 2500 miles, tops, on the rear and a 1500 miles on the front. Probably less mileage than that. Ouch! I expect more from a tire.
That said, the handling and ride have been great all along. Was it the tires age that doomed them? Maybe. If other riders can comment... I hate to condemn these tires if I didn't treat 'em right. :)
