Bike Setup:
Decent bike hampered by rider. Rider hampered by cheeseburgers.

Summary:
This review is for the Fortezza Road (not the SE). I've put about 1000 miles on these tires and have been extremely satisfied with them. I run them at 135 psi on Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels. I rarely ever have flats, and they have taken some substantial abuse on my crappy New Hampshire roads. I highly recomend them.

Strengths:
Fast, light, decent (enough) in the wet

Weaknesses:
Yeah, they're a little tough to get on, but quit whining.

Bike Setup:
Specialized Roubaix
American Classic 420 rims

Summary:
My review is for the Fortezza (non-SE) black;different from the blue 'SE'. I've had these tires over two years now, with over 3000 miles on them, and they still grip and feel nice. I can only remember one flat, that one from a piece of glass that made its way in to the tube. I'm not sure why the last reviewer was comparing this tire's rolling resistance to his track tires, but it was totally inappropriate, IMO. These are easy to mount on my rims. I especially like that these tires are still hand-made, and the price just can't be beat!

Strengths:
low price, hand-made, rated for up to 175 psi, all black, reliable

Weaknesses:
a bit heavier than most

Bike Setup:
Argon18 Platinum road. Marinoni track.

Summary:
I can't believe what I just witnessed - I put these tires on my track bike (I ride a board indoor velodrome) and it felt like I was pedalling in cement. They were SO slow! I thought I was having a bad night until I swapped back to my normal Conti track clinchers. Ahh it wasn't me that was slow, it was the tires.
About three months later I thought I'd try them on the road bike. They're so hard to install and take a lot of muscle.
It snowed so I rode the bike on my rollers. Again I found them really slow. I was struggling to ride at my "resting" pace with my normal tires (Michelin Pro). I got off my bike 4x to see what the heck was dragging and found nothing. I put my Michelins back on and all was ok - I zinged along. That's it - they're not going back on any of my bikes. If you want a slow tires that give you a tough workout, buy these babies. Can I give them minus 5 chillis? I've just wasted $80.

Strengths:
Lovely natural color. They held air. They hang on the wall nice.

Weaknesses:
The rubber must be a soft as pencil erasers and sticks you to the surface. This must be what it's like to ride through wet cement.

Price Paid:  $25.00 at nashbar

Bike Setup:
Yes 2 wheels, some sprockets, cables and a chain.

Summary:
These tires are ABSOLUTELY THE WORST TIRES I HAVE EVER USED with respect to flatting, in 20 years of riding. I have never runover any glass or metal; they puncture on clean smooth dry pavement, even when they are brand new! I can't find any sig damage to the tire after they flat; I use the same tubes in other tires without any problem.
The fact that v'stein advertises these as puncture resistant is a very bad joke. I have persisted with these crap tires, but they have proven beyond a doubt that they were not made to ridden- they are just terrible.

Strengths:
None worth mentioning that could come close to the inconvenience of a tire that can't perform the basic task of staying inflated.

Weaknesses:
I wouldn't use these tires if they were free!

Similar Products Used:
Conti-overall awesome flat protection and wear.(my favorite)
Specialised racing models- as per Conti, and good value
Michelin- mixed, generally good
panaracer- good, and good value

Summary:
I was getting flats nearly every time I went out on my previous tires (continental sport), so I did some research and based on the reviews I went with these tires. I am very happy with them... These are EXCELLENT ROAD TIRES! They have a max psi of 160lbs, which is great for racing.

Strengths:
Puncture resistance and high max psi (160lbs).

Weaknesses:
Some other people complained that they wore quickly, but I figure that is what tires do???
