Product Description

The Schwalbe Rocket Ron Cyclocross Clincher Tire is a super light and seriously aggressive clincher cross tire and will be one of your best race day choices. It has an open tread that has been designed to work well on hard packed dry conditions, but the tapered knobs also shed mud and allow you to maintain great traction in soft conditions. Schwalbe uses their triple nano compound on the Rocket Rons. They've designed this compound to offer a lower rolling resistance and greater durability because the middle of the tread is made from a particularly strong rubber compound. Conversely softer compounds have been used towards the outside of the tire which will help it grip during cornering, especially in messy conditions. The result is a tire that is fast, grippy, and long-wearing -- perfect for training and racing. It's also among the lightest cross tires on the market, which should keep the weight conscious folks happy. The Schwalbe Rocket Ron Cyclocross Clincher Tire is Black and is available in 700c x 35.

Strengths:    Lightweight, supple, grippy, handles mud

Weaknesses:    High wear rate; not great for tubeless so far

Bottom Line:
This tire is grippy and I feels great corning as advertised in the write-up. Has also worked well in several muddy conditions. Though I know rims play a key role in tubeless setups I have been unable to run this tire with less than 30 psi when it's. I am a tiny woman and know several men (and women) who can run less than 30 psi on their tubeless set-ups. I plan on building up the rim tape to see if that helps.
