Summary: Total POS. I went riding on a brand new pair of Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX's for the first time yesterday and both the front and rear tires flatted in less than 33 miles. The front flatted first then the rear about 10 miles later. Totally ruined my training for the day. As soon as I arrived back home I checked the tires...no puntures from glass, rocks, thorns, etc. Rather poor quality in the sidewalls...I pumped air in the tires to see where the leaks were occuring. Both tires had leaks from micro holes on the sidewalls. The sidewalls more less looked like they were dry rotting from the inside out as I could see these little holes and uneven surface on the sidewalls. These are brand new top of the line tubulars from Vittoria and the quality is unacceptable even for the cheapest tire on the market. This was the first time I tried Vittoria tubulars and I will never use them again. It does seem as their quality control has gone down hill since they stopped making their tire in Italy and started making them in Thailand. This from what others have said. I experienced this just now with these POS.
I'm going with Vreds. for a new set of tires as long as they're not made by a third world country.
Strengths: Never lasted one ride to see if there is a strength.
Summary: These tires feel smooth and fast mounted on Zipp 404's. They corner so well that I've even used them in wet criteriums without any problems. The EVO/Zipp combination is more comfortable and feels faster than the Conti Sprinters that I have on my training wheels. They also feel comfortable with higher psi. Granted, there are a lot of variables going on there, so that might not be a valid comparison of tires.
I weigh 190lbs and I've been running about 140 psi rear/130 psi front for road races, and maybe 120/110 for crits. They'd probably be okay with even higher psi, but our roads are mostly chip seal and 140/130 is comfortable.
As with any race tire, they don’t last forever. For the roads I ride on and my weight, I don't expect any race tire to last more than 1500 miles. With the EVO's I got about 1000 miles out of my first rear tire. The front has 1200+ miles on it and looks like it's got at least 500 more miles of life left in it. Not bad at all.
Strengths: -good cornering, feel fast
-comfortable at relatively high psi
-reasonable price, if bought at a discounter
-reasonable tread life for a race tire

Summary: Good overall tire, no flats in 6 months of use. Can inflate higher than most other tubulars on the market. I like mine at 160psi. Great cornering and rolling tire with. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give tread life about an 8.
Strengths: Can run at higher PSI. Great corning and feel

Summary: I have come back to the VIttoria CX tubular after riding a number of different tubular models. I preferred a wider, 24mm style tire for a a time ( Vittoira Pave EVO CG, Veloflex Roubaix, Clement Paris Roubauix) but found that the Vittoria CX rolls faster, corners better, and seems to give nothing up in comfort even though they are narrower in width with less air volume than the aformentioned 24mm tires. They also hold up against punctures as well as any tire, even the more expensive ones.None Although I wouldn't pay $75-$90 retail for this tire, they offer a tremendous value in a pro racing tire at $45 mail-ordered from the UK, and they are readily available at that price.
Strengths: Best performing all around racing tire for the money (when purchased at a discount)

Summary: Although the CX's are not quite as nice as they were when they were made in Italy, the Thai-made ones are reasonably priced and roll very well. I am happy to pay the lower price for this tire.
The road feel is very good, the rubber soft and supple. Because of this the CX's rubber wears faster than most. This is the down side of the trade off for the exceptional road feel and cornering. I have well over a thousand miles on my current set and they're still going strong.
I love these tires. I give them 4*'s for value because I can get Conti Sprinters for less. I give it 4*'s overall because no cotton tire rides as sweetly as a silk tire.
Strengths: Soft rubber, lightweight, great road feel, exceptionally responsive.
Weaknesses: Tread wear.
