Felt F5C, stock components (mostly 105) + brakes upgraded from no-name to 105. Summary:
This is actually a review for the Alex 270 wheelset. They came with the Felt F5C I bought several years ago. I didn't know much about wheels, but I had never heard of the brand and thought they looked cheap. I figured I would use them until they gave out, which I thought would be less than 1 year. Anyway, I have been totally impressed with these wheels. They have taken a real beating and never seem to get out of true. They also seem to be very fast down hills. I don't know how they rate in terms of weight, but I went from an old steel frame bike to the carbon Felt, so overall my ride is so much lighter than my old bike that I haven't paid much attention to the weight of the wheels. I don't know that I would run out and buy a new set of Alex wheels, but if they are already on the bike you are looking at give them a try.
