Summary: Campagnolo Vento Clincher look good, strong but if you get a flat they are a nightmare to remove and replace the tires.
Strengths: Look great, great sound, Very strong, only had to tune them one over 6000km's. Good training tires.
Weaknesses: If you get a flat, getting the tire off and on the rim can be a nightmare compared to most other rims. I would never use these if I was competing, it takes far to long time and energy to replace the inner tube. Also I managed to damage the bearing, they got water in them in a downpour and then they had to be replaced, (easy enough to do but a pain...)

I put nothing but Campy Record 9spd on the bike. 40k miles later they are on a friends bike and he still riding them....NO MAINT. at all. They roll faster and farther than anyone else....
I had the bike repainted by spectrum(Tom K). Yep all campy and vento rims
would not own anything else....
Strengths: NO MAINTANENCE and roll faster than anything else. Never that is Never a problem....
Weaknesses: NONE

Favorite Ride: anywhere that is scenic ... countryside, waterfront
Bike Setup: Guerciotti Ares and mix of Campagnolo Chorus and Record
Summary: Review is for Vento 2008 model as I purchased the wheelset as part of my Guerciotti carbon bike build.
I am rather impressed by the strenght of the wheelset as I've gone through numerous potholes and the wheels are still true.
I've since purchased a set of carbon tubular wheels which I used for about a month and recently reverted back to the Vento for training rides. I felt uncomfortable riding the carbon wheels for weekend training rides as the wheels felt very delicate ... I rode through some potholes which were unavoidable. Good thing the wheels survived it!!
The Vento gave me a sense of comfort knowing that I can go for my rides and not worry about crack rims or any type of wheel failures.
The wheels are heavy but in comparing with other wheelset in the same price range, they're all comparable.
The only wheels I can compare against are wheels from my vintage 70s Guerciotti bike ... Mavic G40 clincher and Ambrosio Synthesis tubular. The Vento is heavier and stronger.
Strengths: Strength!!
Weaknesses: Weight - heavy ... but they are meant as training wheels in my opinion.

Bike Setup: Orbea Marmolada, Veloce brakes, front and rear derailleur, 13/29 cassette, Centaur Compact crank.
Summary:
Ventos came as original equipment on my 2004 Orbea Marmolada. They probably have about 2,000 miles or more on them and never a problem. Only flats have been because of cut tire. Never a broken or loose spoke as some reviewers state. Only time they've been trued is at annual adjustment. Never an out-of-true problem. Local roads are generally rough tarmac and wheels have held up well over potholes, joint seams, railroad tracks, etc. I weigh between 180 and 185lbs, so wheel weight is relative. Tires have been easy to mount. Will eventually upgrade to lighter wheels, but these are bullet or even bomb-proof..
Strengths: Rugged, ability to stay true.
Weaknesses: Slow....is it the wheels or me???
