Bike Setup: Pinarello Galileo alu with carbon forks w/ Record 10 speed carbon throughout, Sciroccos, Cinelli bars, Pro-lite saddle and stem.
Summary: My Ksyriums finally gave up the ghost and I set about replacing them. I could not afford to and elected to buy a pair of factory Campag. Sciroccos. I could not believe the difference. I thought they would be a downgrade. I can even run the tyres at almost full pressure coupled with the addition of Michelin Air comp latex inner tubes becasue they are so much more comfortable and forgiving. Depsite the apparent comfort, they accelerate well, they are great for climbing. I managed during an accident (ne real harm done) to bust a spoke on the rear and despite this the back wheel is still true ! They make the Kysiriums feel harsh and ultimatly over-rated. I have always trusted Campag and they almost always deliver.
Someone said to me a few years ago but it has only sunken in that you should save your money on expensive bits but spend lots on a decent pair of wheels. I am so delighted with the Sciroccos that I am going to upgrade to Eurus soon because I am champing at the bit to see just how much more of an improvment they will be yet again. Now I drool over Shamals.
The fact that there is only 2 levels below the Sirocco in the Camapg line-up, makes them very good value for money. Price given is 195 pounds sterling not dollars.
Strengths: Fast, ultra reliable, comfortabe, great value for money, strong. They will freewheel quicker than the dustbin lids other people ride (I did not believe it until I fitted them).
Weaknesses: Tyre are tight to put on at first.

Summary: My Scirocco wheels have around 5000 miles use over 1 year. I have *never* had a problem with them: strong, relatively light, good bearings.
Strengths: Extreme durability
Weaknesses: Rims must be very slightly oversized, as I have had a tough time placing both Vittoria Diamante Pro and Michelin Pro Race 3 tires on them. Removing tires isn't easy, either. This is the only significant limitation to these wheels I can note. For the price (discounted), they are a superb deal

Summary: If you look at some of the older Campagnolo Scirocco wheelset reviews you will see my another review from me. That is because this is my second pair. The old versions of these are really just good winter/training wheels, but these are a different story. They are much lighter and are as light as you will get unless you want to go the carbon route. They are well built and sturdy just like other Campy products.
Strengths: Light for price, sturdy, well worth money
Weaknesses: Not in black, stickers on side of rim are not very thick.
