    Strengths:    * G3 spokes
    * Italian style
    * cheap

    Weaknesses:    * Wear out quickly
    * Design flaw of hub internals
    * Flexible rear wheel

    Bottom Line:
    These wheels are rubbish. I use them only on my travel bike so have put only a couple thousand kms on them. Most of the abuse they receive is from the airlines because my bike is a Ritchey Breakaway whose case is a bit soft. Nevertheless, I have to stress relieve the wheels after every trip so that they run true. I can hear the rear wheel flex when climbing out of the saddle and I am neither heavy nor super strong. Broke a nipple on a recent ride. Have had to have the pawls replaced twice because there is a design flaw whereby a spring slips and then the pawls are toast. Despite the latest overhaul and inspection of bearings, I must leave cones finger tight or the wheel won't spin. I expected more from Campagnolo, especially after the brilliant performance of my Fulcrum 3s.

    Strengths:    * affordable
    * G3 spoke pattern makes packing
    * Italian style

    Weaknesses:    * short life span
    * flawed design of rear hub internals so pawls often fail
    * friction in rear hub
    * easily knocked out of true by airlines

    Bottom Line:
    These wheels are rubbish. I use them on my travel bike (Ritchey Breakaway) so most of the abuse they receive is from the airlines and not me. Despite riding only a couple thousand kms on them, the rear wheel is coming apart. Often when I remove the wheels from the case I have to stress relieve them so that they are true again. There is also a design flaw in the hub internals where a spring slips and then the pawls stop working. I have had this happen twice, though fortunately never been stranded. I am neither huge (I weigh ~75 kg) nor super strong but I can hear/feel the rear wheel flex when I ride hard out of the saddle. I have to leave the rear cones finger tight or the hub will not spin at all, even after overhauling the hub and checking the condition of the bearings. All in all, I expected better from Campagnolo. I bought these wheels because I have a pair of Fulcrum 3s which are simply fabulous.

    Strengths:    strength

    Weaknesses:    Can't get a tire off or on the darn rims!! This is my second (and last) set of Ventos. It took me 20+ minutes to change a tire today while out of the road. I'm done with these. They go on Craigslist tonight!! I'll replace them with a set of Neuvations.

    Bottom Line:
    Strong, well built wheels to be used as training wheels for a heavier rider. These are my second set of Ventos. They act as my backup wheelset and on my tri bike.
