Summary: I have clocked up around 3000km on my DT Swiss 1850 wheel set and have been extremely happy with their performance. I purchased these wheels after a very dissapointing experience over recent years with kysiums (spoke tension, wheel flex) and hand built so-called bomb proof wheels etc etc.
Although the wheels are slightly heavier than the majority of performance wheels on the market, the stiffness and build quality of these wheels more than compensates for the rotational weight penalty. I have not expereinced any brake rub with these wheels which, I cannot say the same for another manufacture starting with M.
In summary,I believe that if you are a heavy rider it would be very difficult to find a better wheel set for the price.
Strengths: Stiffness, build quality (perfectly balanced) and price
Weaknesses: none

Bike Setup: Cervelo Soloist Team, Sram Rival groupset, DT Swiss RR 1850, Fizik Arione Saddle
Summary: Wheels have to be fast, stiff and look good. I’ve tried Mavic, Rigida and Shimano wheels before, but none of them came close to these ones. At 183 pounds I’m more on the heavy side for a cyclist but the DTs never did the slightest flex. They roll like heaven and although I use them on the rough roads of Europe they never went out of true. I never had to put a finger on them, even after quite a number of potholes.
Being stiff is one thing, but despite being aluminium, they absorb vibrations quite well and give me a gentle ride.
The wheels come, as the name says, at 1850 grams and there have been lighter wheels in history, but once rolling, they feel a lot lighter than you would expect. I have no problems urging up hills and smaller mountains. For the bigger mountains I’d go for the RR1450, though.
The aero rims accompanied by a nice set of aero spokes slice the wind just the way they are supposed to, but don’t give me any problems in crosswinds like deeper profiles.
The looks are fantastic. The white rims and hubs are extraordinary and fitted on my grey anodized frame with white saddle and white handlebar tape they are a real head-turner
Strengths: These wheels are fast! They are stiff, good looking and reliable. Never gave me any problems. The best wheels I've had so far.
Weaknesses: none

Bike Setup: 2, BMC SLC 01's, 53 cm, a Red and a Black, one Campy Record, one Shimano Dura Ace. Best Bike I have ever ridden, period.
Summary: The new DT Swiss RR1850 are a tremendous wheelset.
I have ridden quite a few of the latest wheels on the market, I personally find these to be some of the best built, most durable wheels I know, The 240 hubs are the keystone along with the Dt Swiss reputation and quality for their spokes and rims. At 1850 grams you would think of them being a heavier wheels set. These babies spin up quicker and smoother than the Mavic Es wheels I have on another bike. I am an everyday rider or try to be. I can only highly recommend these wheels to anyone, over 185 lbs, looking for a no problems, low maintenance wheel set, with superior build quality, easily repairable, durable pair of wheels, that ride like a dream. And they look cool in the process. I have the black version.
A more sophisticated design and look than the
Mavic ES juju look at me and how foolish I was to spend stupid big money on flash instead of quality bling.. I am going to get rid of the Mavics and put a set of the 1450's on my other ride. Super quality wheels. I wish they made a set of tubular wheels in their program. I'd buy them in a heartbeat. Yo Dt Swiss, you hear that ?. Buld some tubular wheelsets and the will come.
