Product Description

Tempest I I Tubular Carbon- With deep dish carbon fiber aero profile rim and elliptical profile spokes, the Tempest II is the natural choice for time trials. But unlike other heavy, single purpose wheels, the Tempest II is unbelievably light at only 1265 grams per pair! The all out speed of the Tempest II doesn''t stop when the road goes uphill. For time trials and stage races, the Tempest II Carbon proves that you can have it all!

Strengths:    -light, 1370 grams
-Stiff
-Not too expensive
-Very smooth and top quality bearing system
-Great look and feel
-Corners very responsively
-Did I say they look great!

Weaknesses:    -None that I can tell?

Bottom Line:
WOW!!! Very nice wheels. I bought the 2008 EC90 Aero set and love everything about them. They are very smooth rolling wheels with a very durable feel. Also very fast and noticeably easier to hold high speeds. Very eye-catching as well, a great all round wheel; good at sprinting, climbing, and TT's.

Strengths:    Light, fast, stiff, aero, and blingy!

Weaknesses:    I haven't had an issue yet, but I don't think changing a spoke would be all that much fun.

Bottom Line:
Best wheels ever. Light, fast, stiff, aero, and blingy! They brake well and accelerate great. Hubs are good, a little tight at first, but loosened up.
Freehub body came loose after a couple of hundred Km, but has been fine since.

Strengths:    Light weight, super aero, great hubs, stiff. About 1250g for the pair without tires and cassette. No loose hub feel like Zipp 404's. Much lighter than the Mavic Carbone Aero wheels.

Weaknesses:    Alloy cassette body gets notched by the cassette in no time flat. I'd rather have the additional 40 grams of a steel body that holds up better.

Bottom Line:
Same rim as pre 2005 (non-dimpled) Zipp 404, but with the hot Velomax hub set. The velomax hub design eliminates the j bend of the spoke, so Easton can use a greater spoke tension, which makes these wheels very stiff. They accelerate, climb, and descend well.
