    Favorite Ride:
The road out of Palo Duro Canyon

    Bike Setup:
Lemond Zurich frame, Dura Ace 9 speed

    Summary:
I waited a while to post this review. Let me start by saying these wheels are durable, ride well, and are bomb-proof. These are not sexy wheels. My freinds refer to them as Humvee wheels. But they are lighter than you think. You will probably have a hard time finding them, because they are no in vouge. After about 2300 miles I have had to turn one spoke 1/4 of a turn. That's it. I weight around 200lbs and have always had trouble with wheels. The only issue I ever had with these wheels was they apeared to flex alot on one particular climb up FM337, so much so that they rubbed on the brake. However that has only happened never on other tough climbs. So it may have been a brake pad off center or something else. Would a set of CXP-33s or open pros handbuilt by an expert held up as well, probably so. But by my experience experts are few and far between. However I would never pay the list price for these wheels 675.00 is too much. If you find them on sale they area good set of do it all wheels.

    Strengths:
    Strong, Smooth, Durable

    Weaknesses:
non-standard spokes and hubs. not fashionable.

    Summary:
Good Strong, smooth riding wheel. According to specs they are lighter than a Cosmos, should be tougher too.
My riding seems faster with these wheels. These wheels should be suited to the average recreational rider who rides over a variety of roads and conditions. Racers may want something lighter and faster.
Would a hand built Open Pro on Dura Ace hubs be a better value, I'd say that depends on who builds it.

    Strengths:
    Strong, smooth, great braking.

    Weaknesses:
If this is a weakness: These wheel do fit in the current trend of Sexy wheels, they have too many spokes to be cool, and are not "Aero".
So no one is going to comment on your wheel. Not a proble for me, but some people may want the latest fashion.

    Price Paid:  $400.00 at Parker-International

    Favorite Ride:
    Devil's Backbone

    Bike Setup:
    Colnago c-40 w/ksyrium
    Litespeed Palmeres w/Classic SSC
    Dura Ace

    Summary:
Very durable wheels but the lightweight spokes will come out of dish and spokes will loosen so watch the routine maintenance. Also aas a 175lb. rider the rear spokes break about every 90 days. I have ridden the Ksyrium thru hell and back with no problems, it is superior with the cross wind exception. I have trued the rear only slightly once in over a year.

    Strengths:
    relatively light and strong

    Weaknesses:
spokes will break, straight pull doesn't matter, they just pop at the end just the same.

    Price Paid:  $435.00 at Totalcycling.com

    Favorite Ride:
    Jamesville loop

    Bike Setup:
Klein Quantum Race, Dura Ace, Kore, Syncros.

    Summary:
I purchased these wheels for use as an all around wheelset - crits, road races and training. I can say that so far these wheels have been rock solid. I have put over 3500 miles and them and have not show the slightest need of being trued
(I weight 190lbs and don't always miss the potholes found on CNY roads!).

I would definitely recommend these wheels to the heavier type riders or anyone looking for an all around wheelset.

If I had to say anything negative it would be the loud screeching noise that occurs during the break in period between your brake pads and the ceramic coating on the rims. It did eventually fade away.

    Strengths:
Rock solid durability, good looks (black spokes, rims, hubs), super smooth.

    Weaknesses:
break in period on ceramic coating
