Price Paid:  $220.00 at PBK

Favorite Ride:
anywhere on open roads with no cars

Bike Setup:
Raleigh carbon frame with SRAM mix

Summary:
I was looking for good set of training wheels that does not break the bank, can take pot holes and go through winter without breaking my heart. So far i have done 300 miles and I am surprised how good the RS-20 hold up. I am again surprised how smooth the bearings are and how nice you roll on flats. Not as snappy on climbs as my Mavic Ksyrium SL but the goal is sturdy for winter and bad roads not lightweight. Much better than Fulcrum 7, better bearings, easier to spin up to speed and less noise from the hub. The rim is bit wider than on my mavic's judging by brake closure, i am also running 25mm on it and have to say it's great for potholes and comfort overall. I put some addl grease into the hub to prevent water and dust contamination in winter. Overall this is a great training or commuting wheelset for the price

Strengths:
simple design, easy to maintain, Wheelset feels lighter than it actually is, price, wear indicator, come with rim tape,

Weaknesses:
none so far, lighter is not always better on the terrible roads of the Northeast US

Similar Products Used:
Fulcrum 7 - a brick to spin up to speed, AC-420: crap that goes out of true in 500 miles, Mavic Ksyrium SL: great wheels that hold up well but with a pricetag

Price Paid:  $300.00 at LBS

Favorite Ride:
2007 Specialized Roubais Comp

Bike Setup:
Specialized Roubaix Comp, pretty much stock except the wheels.

Summary:
Bought these 16 months ago to replace the stock Alex/Specialized wheels. Like them just fine until last weekend when, while cleaing the rims, I noticed that there were tiny cracks in the rim wall surrounding the spoke nipples. There were cracks around six of the nipple holes. I took them back to my LBS and they said Shimano only warrantees wheels for one year. They would not do anything for me. While I weigh in at 200 pounds (ride a 58 cm frame) I do not do much out of saddle thrashing, and I ride on only smooth roads. There was clearly a material defect, but customer support would did not offer any relief. They should have lasted longer than this. I won't buy another set of Shimano wheels.

Strengths:
Perform well; look good; reasonably light.

Weaknesses:
Poor durability.

Favorite Ride:
akuna bay

Bike Setup:
custom carbon frame, all DR, rs20 wheels, token rear dérailleur.

Summary:
these wheels are fantastic, i love everything about them, they may not be the lightest wheels out there or even the best looking, but for every purpose they are top notch, especially for the crappy roads, because lets face it there is not such thing a good roads. i commute on these wheels 60 km's a day and have never had a problem, they are true, resistant, inexpensiveness and fast. what else do you want for wheels. good wheels cost more weight less and break faster. i race with Mavics, and i cant find any difference. if it was not for the weight i would race with the RS20's.

Strengths:
super strong
reliable
inexpensive

Weaknesses:
weight
not the prettiest
