Price Paid:
$250.00
at Nashbar Bike Setup: Road bike: vintage steel, dura-ace
TT bike: Leader 735TT, dura-ace Summary: I bought these wheels more or less on a whim when they were on special from Nashbar. I wanted a spare wheelset for training and for backup use. My 'nice' set of wheels are borderline in terms of strength for my weight (200lbs) so I thought it would be smart to leave them solely for racing.
These came with tires and tubes already mounted in the box which also saved another $50ish.
I got an inexpensive Ultegra cassette from e-bay and had a fine set of spare wheels for cheap.
They seem more than strong enough and the supplied tires/tubes perform well for training purposes.
At the price they were a bargain.
Strengths: Looks - they have black spokes with exagerated blades (maybe 3/8 inch wide) which looks really cool especially since my road bike has a black scheme going. Weaknesses: Heavy.
