at online Favorite Ride: Palo Alto, CA Bike Setup: When I had the bike assembled, I changed the pedals to Shimano sport spd, the seatpost to a Richey Comp, and the saddle to a Fizik CP Pave... Summary: I just bought a 2003 Cannondale R400 sport for Xmas and it rocks! I had a 1999 Silk Road 500 and the R400 is much better. It is lighter and requires less maintenance than the Silk Road because of the fork. I usually ride on the weekends and this bike is fantastic for recreational riders! Strengths: The frame and fork are fantastic! Weaknesses: The pedals, seat and seatpost were not great. Also the bike comes with Shimano Sora shifters. at On The Route bicycle Favorite Ride: Carmel Valley Road, CA. Bike Setup: I swapped out several undamaged parts from my old bike. I added Shimano 105 shifters and rear deraillieur, and my 9 speed rear cog and Look peadals Summary: I totalled my Cannondale R600 this summer and wanted a less expensive replacement. I was going to buy the R400 triple then I rode the R400 Sport. I liked the slightly more upright riding style. I thought I would hate the shock absorbing seatpost but it really soaks up the bumps and is easy on my back. This is a nice fast bike for doing long rides comfortably. Strengths: Carbon fiber fork, shock absorbing seatpost, riders position Weaknesses: Saddle is a little too wide, the R400 sport is about 1 MPH slower than my R600 and it does not handle quite as well Similar Products Used: Trek 1200,R400 triple
