Summary:
So versitile--I use this bike to hammer in pace lines or tour fully loaded from Vancouver to San Fran. Take off the fenders, racks and install 23 mm tires, and the CAD 2 touring frame is competitive with more performance oriented road bikes with shorter wheelbases.

Strengths:
Solid frame, stable as a Harley with 50 lbs of touring luggage, touring ammenities (front and rear rack braze-ons, 3 water bottle braze-ons), Shimano 105 STI shifting, XT rear deraileur, linear pull brakes, 9-speed cassette.

Weaknesses:
Shimano 105 triple crankset (30/42/52) perfect for SAG supported long distance touring but geared WAY too tall for loaded touring (you may prefer 22/32/44 mountain crank). Coda Expert saddle = torture device. Factory stem too forward for comfortable touring position, good for a pace line. Plastic top-tube cable guides break and rattle inside frame. Cheap stem, handlebar and post. For big big miles, a recumbent is more comfortable and faster.

Summary:
The bike is my primary mode of transport, spent the extra dollars upgrading to improve reliability.
Most of the running gear is middle of the range but has the reputation for durability and the ease of finding spare parts.If I could justify the expense,a set of Phil Wood hubs would complete the setup.
I average 25 miles a day when commuting and 50/75 on my days off,over rough roads with 15 kg of lugguage. No problems.Fully loaded to 28 kg the bike is stable and the braking is awewsome.Would recomend the bike for the serious commuter or the dedicated long distace traveller.

Strengths:
Extremly well made frame, that is very stiff for carring weight.Long chain stays and all the usual brase-ons for the tourist.

Weaknesses:
Gearing far to high for any serious touring and the Coda components not up to the task either.Shimano 105 headset should be improved apon.

Summary:
Great bike for a commuter or tourist.

Strengths:
This is one of a dying breed, a real touring bike, despite the integrated shift/brake levers (which I happen to like, even on a touring steed). The aluminum frame is not overly stiff and not overly heavy. You can load it up and it behaves decently. The standard equipment tires are Conti Top Touring 200's. Just great.

Weaknesses:
The worst parts are probably the STX Parallax hubs and they're OK. Phil Wood hubs would be nice, but impossible at this selling price.

Summary:
Excellent bike. Rode it in a neglected parking lot. Handled the bumps just as good as my rigid mountain bike. Hydralic Brakes stop on a dime - concerned about repairing these on the road. I planned on using the bike mostly for commuting, but am not comfortable with the shifting. I would rather be able to shift without taking my hands off the brakes.
