Summary:
I think when most bike enthausists hear Cinelli, they typically think of bar tape and other related bicycle accesories. For such an old Italian builder,Cinelli bikes are rare in North America and the XLR8R 2 would be the rarest! I feel as though I bought one just so there was a review on one!

Cinelli's, like all Italian bikes, are certainly not the run of the mill Trek or other popular brand names you see cruising around.

The Cinelli Bike company is under the same banner as Columbus tubing, so with that the XLR8R 2 becomes the platform for Columbus to showcase their finest examples of carbon and aluminum tubing.

This Frame is extremly clean and the juncture point of where alum. meets carbon is a smooth transition. Almost undetected that this a mixed material frame.Added to the front triangle is a super muscle rear stay/chain stay system and a super muscle fork. Enough said.

I have never reached out and touched a space shuttle, but the finish and protective coating on this frame, seriously could re-enter the earth's atmosphere unscathed.

This bike is completly beautiful!

Strengths:
Stiff, responsive and compliant...all the stuff you would expect from a bike of this pedigree. This mix of materials gives you the best of what you want out of a bike. Serious climber, fast on the flats and very responsive on downhill decents, along with all day comfort. The perfect tool for any course.

Weaknesses:
Cinelli group rides are lonley rides!

Similar Products Used:
I have riden and owed a few steel, straight alum. and alum/carbon mix bikes.
I currently own another Columbus tubed bike, an Orbea Spirit/carbon.
