at Ebay Favorite Ride: gibralter Bike Setup: Scott Addict, Campy Record 11 speed, Easton Orion II wheels Summary: What a lousy product. Bought it new to go with my EC90 bars. Tighten to torque specs, and won't hold the bars in place. tightened down further and the face plate snapped! No replacement plate available and no return since I bought it on Ebay. See ya! Strengths: Looks great Weaknesses: Doesn't work - otherwise just fine Similar Products Used: Rithcey Axis - no problems at all!

at Competitive Cyclist Favorite Ride: Mandeville Bike Setup: Look KG461, HSC4 fork, Dura-Ace 7800 Group with FSA Carbon Compact crankset and Zero Gravity brake calipers, USE Alien seat post and Electron carbon bars, Fizik Aliante Carbon Saddle and Mavic Ksyrium SL Wheelset Summary: The EC90 is probably the worst cycling component that I have ever purchased. After three attempts and almost three months I have given up. Easton's new revolutionary collet-style steerer tube clamping system provides just enough pressure to hold the stem approximately 5% off center resulting in annoying shoulder and neck pain. I was originally notified by the seller and it was later confirmed by Veltec Sports, that the first run of stems were flawed from errors in the manufacturing process. I waited approximately 70 days for the second stem to arrive and then an additional 15 days to swap out the second defective stem for the third. On each occasion, I expected the problem to be cured with no satisfaction. My advice is to refrain from purchasing this stem until the errors in manufacturing have been corrected. Total ride time approximately 10 hours, total time dealing with Easton's quality issues approximately 10 hours, lost hours on the saddle, too numerous to count. Easton has lost a customer for life… Strengths: Looks great, doesn't mount straight Weaknesses: Looks great, doesn't mount straight Similar Products Used: USE Atom which uses a similar clamping system. FSA OS-115. A Stella Azzurra Vice Versa Mag is on order to replace the EC90.
