Price Paid:  $3500.00 at Run Swim Bike

Model Year:
2005

Favorite Ride:
American Fork Canyon

Bike Setup:
I have left the bike stock with the DA 10 except I changed out the stock saddle for a selle italia trans am (love it)..I am on my third one.

Summary:
The bike rocks. It does it all with a very supple ride and a super light weight bike (16 lbs with pedals and cages). I have put this bike through the paces...everything from crits to Lotoja and it handles it all beautifully. I would buy another one in a heartbeat!

Strengths:
Combination of stiffness and dampening with scandium/carbon mix. Also super lightweight and you get a lot of bike for your $$. Plus it looks badass.

Weaknesses:
I have ridden this bike for 2 years and haven't found it yet.

Similar Products Used:
Trek and Cannondale

Price Paid:  $2400.00 at custom assembly

Model Year:
2004

Favorite Ride:
Hayden Lake

Bike Setup:
Scandium frame/carbon stays, Reynolds Ouzo Pro, Easton EC90, Dura-Ace 9spd, Eggbeaters, Fizik Aliante Ti, Campagnolo Proton rims, Michelin ProRace2

Summary:
I bought this bike looking for something livelier than straight carbon. The scandium with carbon stays is a great compromise between the two, but the weight is what sold me. I am 6', 170 lbs, and the 58 cm is a great fit. What stands out the most about this bike is its ability to make me feel fast and strong throughout my ride. It accelerates well and climbs willingly. I would definitely buy it again.

Strengths:
ULTRA LIGHT (just over 16lbs), efficent climber, absorbs road vibration, can take pothole hits, super acceleration.

Weaknesses:
Slight flex in bottom bracket evident on trainer, a little skittish on descents in high crosswinds, paint seems prone to chipping.

Similar Products Used:
Tested Trek 5200, LeMond Alpe D'Huez, Orbea Lobular Carbon

Price Paid:  $3100.00 at Alberto's, highland

Model Year:
2004

Favorite Ride:
southeastern wisconsin rolling hills

Bike Setup:
dura ace 9 speed, saddle is changed to ti-aspide sella marco titanium, otherwise stock carbon/scandium stuff

Summary:
Fantastic bike! I'm 225 lbs (sometimes up to 235). I've never ridden anything as strong and so light. I swear it "dances under my feet" as I sprint up short climbs. It's ultra light! Everyone is amazed at how light it is. It's catapulted my cycling.
\

Strengths:
Very strong and ultra light.

Weaknesses:
internal cable wiring rattles on rough surfaces...no way to fix that.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Model Year:
2005

Favorite Ride:
Texas Country Roads

Bike Setup:
Full Dura Ace, Velomax/Easton Tempest 2 wheels,Itm carbon stem, Fsa k-wing bar, dura ace pedals, Fizik arione saddle, Easton post, easton fork (aero), look water bottle cages, fizik bar gel tape.

Summary:
So far this bike is awsome, Super fast. I can definatly feel a difference on climbs. I can now basically leave the competition. Super stiff and very light. A little to stiff on 100 mile rides but perfect for 40 to 60 mile races. My times are definatly faster. Have to consider in texas the back roads are chip seal and it can rattle your teeth but the scandium does help. I have this bike fully loaded at 16.0 lbs. Oh, yeah.

Strengths:
Looks threatening to other riders. I can't count how many times at the starts or even at rest stops that other riders just gaze at it.

Weaknesses:
If there is one maybe a little too stiff on 100 mile rides but in Texas, the back roads are the chip seal.

Similar Products Used:
Trek 2300, Masi Gran Criterium, Schwinn Comp (trainer), Scattante Full carbon.

Price Paid:  $0.00 at Bikes & More - Dalla

Favorite Ride:
Felt F-15

Bike Setup:
2004 F-15 w/ D/A 10 Speed, D/A pedals and RavX saddle

Summary:
This bike is an awesome ride, once I worked out some of the kinks. It is extremely light (15.5 lbs w/o pedals), responsive, very smooth. When you get out of the saddle, you can really feel the response to each pedal stroke. The only change I made to the stock bike is replacing the Selle Italia SLR saddle with the RavX - just because I wanted a white saddle.

Strengths:
Light, responsive - looks awesome

Weaknesses:
The initial handlebar tape job required rewrapping after a few rides - not a big deal. The rear brake mount required re-epoxying, whcih was not a big deal but put the bike out of action for about a week.

Santa Cruz Roadster w D/A, Cannondale Caad 3 R800 w/ Ultegra
