Summary:
I got this bicycle at the beginning of the semester, around 8 weeks ago. I only ride about two miles each way, each weekday, and on fairly flat ground. I had it retuned after a month, as the shop advised. The chain subsequently started slipping, and I went back to the shop. They told me the cassette (where the chain goes round the sprockets on the back wheel) was GETTING WORN OUT and would need replacing at my expense, not Fuji's. After around 200 miles of gentle commuting bicycling! What a heap of complete junk. I would warn anyone, anywhere, at all time, not to buy a Fuji bicycle.

Bike Setup:
Syntace time-trial handlebars w/ one integral brake lever. Record front caliper brake (if you are going to have only one brake, it had better be twice as good!) Record carbon 350mm seatpost. Dual entry Shimano clipless pedals.

Summary:
The name of the bike is misleading, since the components are not "track-specific" and are mostly bmx parts. Additionaly, the geometry of the frame is strictly roadbike, so there isn't alot that is "track" about the 2002 Fuji Track. But, "Entry-Level Fixed-Gear Roadbike" probably wouldn't fit on the top-tube. Truth in advertising aside, the Fuji Track certainly proves what fixed-gear roadies have been saying for years, that "less is more" when it comes to riding. I purchased the 2002 Fuji Track SE, the 43cm framed and 650b wheeled version of the Fuji Track. The SE must stand for "Short-Edition", because at 5'6" the frame was almost too small for me (the next available sized frame that they make is 49cm, which would have been too big!) The Fuji Track SE is the smallest sized fixed-gear production bike that I have found... anywhere, to get a steel track frame and fork alone in this size would require custom ordering, would cost no less than $1,500.00, and take 7-8 weeks.

Strengths:
Smooth riding Cro-Moly frame... the only thing smooth about an over-sized aluminum frame us the way that it looks!

Weaknesses:
No brakes?! Since this bike is more suited for the road than the track, it would have made more sense to outfit it as such and equip it with a front brake. I spent a month needlessly spinning out of control down steep hills, until I installed a front caliper brake. Now, I just tap the brakes when my legs can't keep up with the pedals. The toe-clips are disposable, but I suppose that they are really only "training wheels" until you're ready to go clipless on a fixed-gear, anyway.

2003 Fuji Track Bike Review: (YES 2003!)
I'm proud to say that this is a great entry level track bike at an affordable price! It comes with a 48/16 gear ratio that is great for general road use. Remember that this bike comes as a track bike period! You will need to add a front brake if you want to ride fixed on the street. Flip flop hub allows freedom to mount an optional freewheel or different gear. Turns nice and tight, good solid feel. Go for it! You won't regret it!

Strengths:
Nice colors this year (blue/silver), tight solid feel, afordablity, quality for the price.

Weaknesses:
Pedals-very cheesy w/ plastic toe clips, seat is a bit stiff and uncomfortable.

Summary:
I was looking for an inexpensive entry level track bike, and the Fuji fit the bill. Seems nice & stiff when pushed hard.

Strengths:
Good value, setup for road or track use.
(mine does have one set of water bottle braze-ons, other reviewer said his didn't)

Weaknesses:
Seems a bit heavy, but not really a concern on the track. I also didn't like the stock saddle and replaced it with a Selle Italia.

Swapped chainring to 42, change saddle to Max Flite, added front brake, Speedplay X3's.

Summary:
I purchased bike to used as a on-road fixed-gear bike. The bike is well equipped for the price. It handles well and is very comfortable.

Strengths:
Value; Looks; comes with flip-flop hub, stem has detachable face.

Weaknesses:
Saddle - personal preference, but it was way too soft for me, had to change quickly. Lack of water bottle brazeons, but that's what you get with a track bike
