Price Paid:  $0.00 at Haven't Bought it Cy

Favorite Ride:
Don't have one

Bike Setup:
700x23C on Mavic Open Pro SUP's. 14 g 32 spoke wheels.

Summary:
Just bought the Hutchinson Gold Elite Carbons. Put 40 miles on them last night and today. So far, excellent tires; smooth roll, confident cornering. No visible nicks after gravelly and glass strewn route across Dumbarton bridge and through EPA. I weigh 156 lbs.

Strengths:
Smooth ride, confident grip

Weaknesses:
I read from other reviews they puncture easily. Stay tuned for further info...

Similar Products Used:
Old Conti's: Don't remember which model, but they were my favorite overall tires.
Old Michelins: Don't remember model but nothing gripped like Michelins. Nothing wore faster either. Sidewalls don't last more than a few hundred miles.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Favorite Ride:
Yorkshire Dales

Summary:
This is a high performance tyre which has inspiring grip, however this is compromised by the fragility. A 'Sunday Best' tyre where have to you know the quality of road before you set off.

Strengths:
Very grippy in both the dry and the wet. Very low rolling resistance.
Tyre very easy to remove from the wheel(see weaknesses).

Weaknesses:
Very puncture prone and I mean VERY.

Price Paid:  $25.00 at supergo

Favorite Ride:
pacific coast highway, between long beach and dana point

Bike Setup:
giant OCR, upgraded to ultegra and a shimano-540 wheelset, eggbeater pedals

Summary:
i wrote a review earlier in which i praised these tires. please disregard it. these are the worst tires on the face of this earth. for the first few weeks, sure they were great, but then after only maybe 2-300 miles of riding, they were covered with knicks and cuts. also, they are very prone to flats. i have gotten a flat on every one of the last three rides i have been on, not counting my most recent ride, in which my rear tire just blew off the rim while i was descending at 30mph. luckily, i didn't eat it. im fed up with these p.o.s. tires and am going to switch to GP3000s as soon as i have the money. i have no idea how they can use these tires in the tour, and how lance didnt flat out after he rode across that pasture on these cheap tires. please do yourself a favor and do not purchase these tires. all in all, THEY SUCK.

Strengths:
rolling resistance, price, kinda look cool

Weaknesses:
PUNCTURE RESISTANCE, cornering, MADE IN FRANCE!

Price Paid:  $44.00 at Supergo.com

Favorite Ride:
Lunch sprint ride with the East Side Wheelmen

Bike Setup:
Paketa on Dura Ace and FRM, Deep V Velocity Rims.

Summary:
Great racing tire with lots of grip. Felt very steady on hard turns, so much so I did not even think twice about leaning hard into the real sharp turns. Very light and they come in great colors. I had the postal version on the bike when I got it and then got the gold version when they wore out. The bad news, they wear very fast and just about anything will flat them. Race tire only.

Strengths:
Zero rolling resistance, lightweight, cornering, colors, price

Weaknesses:
quick wear, punctures easy

Similar Products Used:
Carbon Comp, Vittoria tech pro, ultra 2000

Price Paid:  $45.00 at Nashbar or Supergo

Favorite Ride:
North Georgia

Bike Setup:
Giant OCR1

Summary:
Recieved tires as a gift. front tire lasted 250 miles, rear tire lasted 400 miles. Both had nasty gashes.

Strengths:
None

Weaknesses:
Tires still brand new when they cut, when I removed the tire and inspected the interior, it looks like the rubber was breaking down. Lots of rubber crumbs.

Similar Products Used:
Many types, too many to remember or list.
