    Price Paid:  $834.00 at Online

    Model Year:
    2004

    Favorite Ride:
    Anything with a hill

    Bike Setup:
Stock with Armidillo All-Conditions, Titec Carbon seat post, SI-90HR.

    Summary:
Before buying the X-Ray, I searched the web and read many reviews, rode several bikes and my local bike shops, and still came back to the X-Ray. I was looking for a lighter, quicker bike for a 7-mile commute and winter trainer and the X-Ray has not let me down! I now have over 1000 miles on the bike and it is responsive, light, and very rugged.

Jack at Ibex bikes is great to deal with, good communication and he delivered the bike as promised. I needed an extra wheelset and Jack was able to provide a set at a great price. Components are as good or better than $1100 bikes at the local bike shops.

The bike was quick and easy to assemble. In the 1000 miles of riding, I have not had to make any adjustments to the bike.

I highly recommend this bike and Ibex bikes. They really do care about their customers and work hard to answer all questions and provide a great product.

    Strengths:
Great value, quality components, responsive frame and comfortable.

    Weaknesses:
None with the bike, a bunch with the rider.

    Similar Products Used:
Fuji Cross, Lemond Poprad, Redline Conquest, Jamis Something

    Price Paid:  $829.00 at Ibex

    Favorite Ride:
    Top of the World Highway--Yukon

    Bike Setup:
Stock with the exception of Conti Ultra 3000s and cyclometer.

    Summary:
Initial review: I purchased this bike online for my wife. We've taken the X-ray out only twice so far... only about 30 miles. I just wanted to lay down a preliminary review to express my satisfaction with Ibex, Jack and the entire purchasing experience. I'll write another after she logs some mileage.

I wanted a cyclocross for my wife to use as an allrounder. I considered Jamis Nova (steel), Fuji Cross, K2 Enemy, Trek XO-1, and others. No other cross bike I could find could come close to matching the X-Ray in terms of value for components and frame.

Being no stranger to online bike buying (this is my 4th), and being satisfied that the value was in the bike, I jumped in and submitted my order online a few nights ago. Within minutes I got a confirmation e-mail from a REAL LIVE PERSON...Jack. We had a brief e-mail chat and he told me the bike would be shipped the next day and I'd get a tracking number. And this, in fact, occurred.

In a few days, the bike arrived...on time. It was perfectly packaged and minimally broken down. I only had to install the bar to the stem, the seatpost to the seat tube, the pedals to the crank arms, the wheels in the dropouts, and hook up the front cantilever brake.

The bike REQUIRED ABSOLUTELY NO ADJUSTMENT...derailleurs were tweaked perfectly and wheels were spot on true!

My initial assessment of the quality is very good...the welds are clean and the paint job appears to be of very high quality. The color scheme is a bit darker than appears on the website, but actually is MUCH better. It really is attractive (FWIW). The X-ray truly exceeds my expectations (which were high).

Weight out of the box (minus front, rear and wheel reflectors) is 21.5 pounds for the 51cm. This is actually LESS than advertised. Can you imagine that?

    Strengths:
Value...best combination of frame and components for the money, period.
    Excellent online purchasing esperience.

    Weaknesses:
The night is young, but no beefs, so far.
